“Monsters at Large”, the latest feature directed by Jason Murphy (ROBO-DOG), gets its North American release via Lionsgate Home Entertainment on March 13, 2018.
Mischa Barton (THE O.C.) and Austin St. John (MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS) highlight this family adventure in the spirit of THE GOONIES, SUPER 8, and STRANGER THINGS. Brooklynn Prince (THE FLORIDA PROJECT) and Stephen Tobolowsky (GROUNDHOG DAY) also star.
The film is directed by, Jason Murphy, who has also produced 4 other features in Florida despite the state no longer having any film incentive tax program. “Even though the state of Florida got rid of their incentive program years ago, there are still a lot of talented people here who want to work in the film business. We are happy that we are able to keep producing films right here in Florida, and hope to continue to do so as our budgets grow and tax incentives become more of a factor.” says Producer/Director Jason Murphy. “Monsters at Large” is the 5th feature produced by Jason Murphy and his team, and the 2nd to be picked up by Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
“Monsters at Large” is a family feature that tells the story of high school student Alex (MATTHEW KOSTO) whose kid brother Gavin (TREVOR DOLDEN) is convinced there is a monster in his closet. Alex and his friends Dylan (AUGGIE PULLIAM) and Phoenix (ALICIA DEL AGUILA) devise a plan to become Monster-Busters and pretend to get rid of the imaginary monster. The plan is a success and they even end up starting a business busting monsters all around town. Everything is going great...until they encounter a monster that is not-so-imaginary.
